Meet Jose Ortiz, a lead systems engineer for the Launch Abort System (LAS) at NASA’s Langley Research Center. Jose is working to help return humans to the Moon. In the unlikely event an emergency occurs in the first phase of launch, the Launch Abort System could carry astronauts safely away from the SLS rocket.
